Campaigns & Elections magazine recently released their annual 'Influencers 50 'list, a list of key players who will be influencing the upcoming election cycle. PowerPAC+ Chair Steve Phillips and Senior Advisor Julie Martinez Ortega were featured on the list for their work on the 2014 Fannie Lou Hamer Report, which examined the Democratic Party's lack of diversity in consultant spending in the past two election cycles.
According to the Campaigns & Elections staff, “The [Fannie Lou Hamer] report made waves in campaign circles and in the months since, PowerPAC+ has worked to shine a light on a disparity many consultants and activists say is largely ignored by the powers that be in Washington.”
The list also features strategists who are working to increase candidates and their party’s comfort level with digital, consultants utilizing data and analytics in local and state legislative races highlighting “the consulting world’s need to diversify its ranks.”
The Influencers 50 were awarded at a Gala on November 19, 2014. See the full 'Influencers 50' list here.
